Ok, I have to admit it - I nearly can't wait until my next holiday. This is a normal state of being for me, but it's different this time.

My next destination is the Languedoc in France - again. Since playing Gabriel Knight III and my first visit to the area I'm addicted to this part of France. It's not only the unsolved mysteries there (a priest that got rich overnight, geometrical patterns in the landscape, Templars...) but also the wild landscape itself. Although I went there many times, I figure this trip will be different. A group of about 20 people, and the author of some of the best books on the subject of some of these myteries - Henry Lincoln - will meet there for a week.

Lincoln surely has some very good connections to the people there, and he sure knows of places I haven't heard about - yet. :)

I think I'll learn much, although I already have some knowledge of the area.

And of course I'll bother you with details as soon as I am back (sometime in October).

...ich hab die Bestätigung. Die Schatzsuche ist demnach gebongt. Das ist sehr, sehr grossartig, finde ich.

Ein Film über Verschwörungen, ein Jahrtausende altes Artefakt (naja, zwei Jahrtausende halt) und vor allem Rennes-le-Château. Nach den Amazon-Wertungen war ich mir einigermassen sicher, dass der Film nix taugt; aber da er einigermassen günstig war, hab ich ihn bestellt. Heute bekommen, und als erstes hab ich mir die hüstel "Dokumentation" über die Templer und RLC angesehen. Nicht wirklich neu, nicht wirklich gut; aber egal. Der Film selbst ist unterhaltsam, wenngleich nicht gut gedreht. Er erscheint bruchstückhaft, und wenn man sich nicht für die Story interessiert (kann schnell passieren) auch sinnfrei und langweilig. Da ich, was diesen ganzen Themenkomplex betrifft, erstaunlich dickfellig bin (schon einige schlechte Bücher zu dem Thema gelesen, yes sir!), haben mich die Magenkrämpfe erst recht kurz vor Schluss erreicht.

Trotzdem: für den Preis war er unterhaltsam. Vielleicht wird er ja besser, wenn ich ihn auf Englisch anschaue. Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt.
